About Fit Effects

Fit Effects was founded by Occupational Therapist, Melissa La Manna who wanted to combine allied health and fitness into one, to approach therapy interventions in a more fun and active way.

 

Melissa has been working as an Occupational Therapist for over 15 years. She has worked in numerous areas including mental health, paediatrics, injury management, stroke rehabilitation and aged care rehabilitation. Working as an Occupational Therapist and case manager, Melissa has expertise skills in home modifications, equipment prescription, SIL and SDA, mental health, wheelchair prescription, pressure care, ergonomics and manual handling. 

 

Melissa is APHRA registered and is committed to ongoing professional development. 

Melissa is also a certified personal trainer and fitness coach and uses the skills developed from this certification, to incorporate it into her clients to ensure best treatment and intervention outcomes are achieved.

Aside from her work career, Melissa is a mum of two young children, and also fulfils the roles of a full time mum. Melissa enjoys going to the gym, has a love of sports, and loves spending time with her family. 

Tiana is an Occupational Therapist Assistant who is currently studying Occupational Therapy at university. Tiana has always been passionate about all things health and wellness, leading to her being drawn to what occupational therapy has to offer. She enjoys working with a range of clients, in order to reach their individual goals in a creative and fun way.

 

Tiana provides therapy through the use of specialised equipment and technology, communication, and fun and effective activities in order to improve a person's independence in their day to day lives. Tiana enjoys seeing her clients progression over time and enjoys each and every session with them.

Michaela is an Occupational Therapist Assistant, currently studying Occupational Therapy at university. She has a history in sporting activities with a heart filled with compassion. This leads to her dedicated urge to help others in reaching their goals. Nothing is too small or too big to overcome! An athlete background and experience in disability support work allows Michaela to provide therapy in new creative ways that focus on a person centred approach.

 

Michaela provides therapy through specialised technology and activities allowing participants to reach any goal. Every person is different and that is what makes it so special when working alongside Michaela

Melanie is an Occupational Therapy Assistant currently studying Occupational Therapy at University. From a young age, she has always been passionate about helping others, a value that has remained with her throughout her life, leading her to pursue a career in occupational therapy. Melanie enjoys working with a variety of clients, focusing on a person-centred approach to ensure their needs are met.

Melanie provides therapy through fun activities, assistive equipment, and educational resources. She combines this with patience and tailored interventions to improve clients' independence and daily living skills. Melanie takes great joy in each session and finds fulfilment in seeing her clients achieve their goals.
